Here are some photographs from the visit that Sustainable Penwith and West Cornwall Friends of the Earth made to the former Penlee quarry, the site of the proposed new marina and residential development, which is normally off-limits to the general public.
The images are sequential to give a panorama of the site from the only vantage point we were allowed since there was already large plant moving earth and rock around the site.
Image 3 shows the section of the Cliff Road that would be removed to join the quarry to the sea. The water level in the quarry would drop about 5 metres.
